Waarom India

Why India?

Large Human Resource:
India has the largest English speaking population after the United States. German and French are important foreign languages taught in most graduation colleges. Each year 2 million graduates and 0.3 million post-graduates pass out of colleges here.

Costs:

”If you have forgotten costs, you have forgotten what all is about”. All said and done, the truth still remains that cost competitiveness remains one of the key driving forces for outsourcing to India. The typical costs we quote are close to 20% of an American / European company, even adding the additional overheads of 10% for infrastructure and extra management, India offers a serious price advantage.

Experience:

India is at least half a decade ahead of most countries into the outsourcing business. Some of India’s outsourced development started as early has 1985 and by 1990 there were some companies exclusively working for overseas clients. India shook up the market in 1998–1999 when the world was desperately looking for people to fix Y2K bugs. Today, offshore outsourcing is synonymous with India.

Indian Education System:

After higher secondary, all subjects in colleges as compulsorily in English in almost all of the colleges. The Indian education system places strong emphasis on mathematics and science, resulting in a large number of science and engineering graduates. Mastery over quantitative concepts coupled with English proficiency has resulted in a skill set that has enabled the country to take advantage of the current international demand for IT.

Quality Manpower:

India is home to high end R&D for most big wigs. For most companies, India has been their first R&D center outside their country. Indian programmers are known for their strong technical skills, willingness to work hard, and their eagerness to accommodate clients. In some cases, clients outsource work to get access to more specialized engineering talent that they can not get in their countries, or is too exorbitant there. Google for example, set one of its first major research center outside US in India. The total savings in terms of dollars would have been miniscule but the quality of work done here has prompted it to give India a crucial role in its present and future. India is home to maximum CMM level 5 companies surpassing even US and Europe.

Cutting Edge Technology:

India is fast becoming a hub for extensive use of technology. India’s domestic IT spend is exploding and many Indian companies are now at par with their global counterparts in terms of usage of technologies. Foreign R&D centers and high tech manufacturing units set up by global players here gives India access to technologies that most other countries would not have so easily. India is fast moving up the value chain and becoming Tier1 provider to some of the Fortune 500 companies.
