The client is a media agency for some of the world's largest media studio. The studio has their marketing and management teams working on different titles.
The Requirement
The client needed to create a product for internal marketing for these media companies. The product to be used for changing the "mood" of the employees' desktop and broadcasting information to the team and to jack up team's excitement as the launch date for their products moved closer, and peak it at the time of launch and slowly dwindle it down and build excitement for the next launch.
The Challenge
The client knew what is to be done and had a very little idea on exactly how it is to be done and the client was on a tight budget.
The Solution
We created a suite of complimentary applications that would be used in conjunction to create the atmosphere as per the theme. The system included...
Desktop Pet:A cute character that would play around the users' desktops, the character done up in flash would do various actions like a pet would. This character would change depending on the movie being released.
Message Broadcasting System: It would come up with a small message over the desktop just above the system tray. This would provide the management, a way to send teaser messages for weeks before the product launch.
Instant Messenger:A full fledged instant messenger system that would use a skinnable interface, the skin would change depended on all user's machine as per the schedule. So while chatting, the user would always be reminded of the movie being launched.
Breaking News Module:This would bring up a newspaper like nearly full screen message, this was to be used for conveying a major new development.
Video Mail Module: This would bring up a recoded video on the user's desktop, at times trailers of the movie or at other times a supposedly live communication from the director / senior management.
Desktop Wallpaper Module: this module would change the desktop wallpaper automatically as per the schedule.
Result
The product is still under beta testing at test sites, this will revolutionize the internal marketing and communication for organizations that have new products to launch periodically.
