The Client: The client wanted to switch over from snail mail based contact to two way interactive communication that would allow the client to keep the customer in touch with the customer and also allow the users to provide opinion, feedback and participate in online surveys.
Solution:After studying the current customer interaction system, our team devised a strategy for interactive communication...
The first step was defining the information to be requested from the customer and creating a simple and user-friendly web sign up form to facilitate data generation.
The system then incorporated a full fledged newsletter system to send news and product launch information to the customer at regular interval. The system would also provide detailed stats on user response in terms of mails opened and click-throughs achieved.
A filter based mailing system was included to send targeted special offers and promotions to a precisely targeted user base for example, males between 18 - 35 who like action games and own a x-box.
A reports generation system would provide vital information to the marketing team on the clicks and read patterns of users to help analyze data for further strategizing on what offers work and what don't.
A competition and data capture generator was created that would generate simple quizzes and sign up forms that could be run from popular sites, game retailers and gamers’ hangouts by simple cut / paste of code. It also provided a facility to handle data share agreements and automatic random selection of winners.
As per the findings of the clients’ statistics and marketing team, the profile of people who were most appropriate for research and feedback was generated, an appropriate 'Customer Panel' System was developed. This system would automatically escalate the selected profile of people to “gold members’ who would get previews of games that were in the beta state of development. The volunteers were required to fill in surveys and play simulated games and provide feedback. The system would automatically fill up a pre-decided number of people in the panel. Any non responsive members would be downgraded and new members identified to take their place
A micro-site management system would automate the management of specific content and members’ area for various sub-sites they had for all their game titles.
This included a system that would auto-convert static HTML/Flash sites to ASP / PHP based sites with premium content automatically restricted to members. This offered the designers the convenience of working their way, and without a few custom tags put by the designer, the system would convert the static site to a dynamic portal.
A retailer management system was later introduced to allow automation of linking the game site with the retailers’ links to specific URL where that particular title could be bought.
Benefits:
The client was now able to save substantial costs and time in communication with its customer. More importantly, the system made it possible for the client to not just communicate with the customers but updating them on the new offers and launches within no time.
The client could now know how many people actually read their communication and how many were actually clicked the links (therefore interested in their products)
The built in survey builder application and customer panel system established a two way communication process. The marketing and analysis team could get opinions and survey results from general users as well as special panels, helping them take strategic decisions based on user's likes and dislikes. This saved substantial money they would spend on surveys conducted through third party agencies.
The data capture and competition system made the task of coordinating competitions with retailers and high traffic portals a breeze, this helped them gain tens of thousands of subscribers and potential customers.
The portal system enabled them to eliminate the job of coordinating between the designing and programming teams for their micro-sites. As their designers could convert their designs to a dynamic site without writing even a line of code in Php or ASP.
The retailer management system enabled providing specific links to buy URLs on various retailer sites without any manual intervention that helped in translating clicks into sales.
The system thus revolutionized the way the client handled customer relations and increasing the overall sales dramatically.
